[Tutorial] DIY Home Made Matcha Lemon Milk – 2 way Face Mask

[FOTD] Santa Baby

ImageMERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!!!

Even I’m not celebrating Christmas, Christmas will always be my favorite holiday! Where malls decorated with fancy winter theme and playing Christmas carols all day. I always can’t hide my excitement each time I hear cheering Christmas songs like Winter Wonderland, Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree, Sleigh Ride, or Jingle Bell Rock! I can’t help myself singing and dancing on it, sometimes I sing out loud when there’s only instrumental playing of those songs like Karaoke! 😀

When I was little, I also spent my time queuing for a gift from “fake” Santa Claus at the malls with other kids who celebrate it. (Uuu…sneaky!) And taken a pic with him too! My excitement today represents this #FOTD. With red-green color blocking eyeshadow, and gradient lips (you can get the tutorial by clicking here ), I love to play with these Christmas colors! 🙂

Of course you can wear this look to Christmas Party with friends and relatives tonight, bring it on with your favorite dress and shoes, and show them, that you are a truly Santa Baby! 😉

HAPPY HOLIDAY, FOLKS!!!

DD cream? | Another alphabetic cream

DD-creamBB, CC, and now DD cream…? Make up industries keep on improving alphabetic creams. After the popularity of BB and CC cream, they now invented DD cream. Maybe next they will also invent EE to ZZ cream with so much more improvement formula. We’ll never know! 😀

DD-cream-01There are some DD cream products I can found in Google. It’s only a few brands that already launched their DD cream products, I also haven’t seen any DD cream products in any stores here with my own eyes yet. In Indonesia BB cream still in the top of popularity than CC cream, cause the affordable CC cream still kinda hard to find here. What I really love from Indonesian people is, they don’t seem really care about these alphabetic cream. Yes, people here still love the old-classic foundation! Including me. Why? Simple, ’cause in my opinion, BB or either CC cream is not kind of tropical weather-friendly cream. They broke down and ruined easily by sweat and oil. At least that’s what I experienced from some drugstore or Korean BB cream products, (I tried 2 kinds of BB cream from E***e, both are expensive but all came sucks!) I never repurchase any of those brand! 😛

bb-cc-dd-cream

Now, let’s see what’s the differences between all these three alphabetic cream. BB and CC cream has that sheer coverage which I really HATE. They concealed dark spots, or acne scars poorly, and almost concealed nothing. Why they claimed these as “skin-perfection cream”?, it’s non-sense. BB and CC cream also contains too much oil base moisturizer that will only left greasy-look on my face (while Korean make-up lovers say it’s “glowy” or “dewey” look, WTH?) all day and followed by giving me white/black heads cause those cream kind of clogged pores. 😦 They claimed can even out skin, but those cream just didn’t work for me.

The good news about the new DD cream is, it has more build-able tint/coverage. I expected they would be as good as classic foundations that can give perfect skin coverage. I’m still skeptical though, cause usually this alphabetic cream invented for people with dry to normal skin. I said these won’t really work for Indonesian skin cause Indonesian people has more combination to oily skin type, or acne prone skin. I still wish someday they will invented BB/CC/DD gel or any oil-free based face primer that have better coverage, give mattifying-finished instead of glowy or greasy, and more tropical skin and weather friendly.

So, what’s your opinion about these alphabetic cream, girls? 😉

GREEN Make-up Base?

green-make-up-base-primer-01“Green make-up base/primer? What will I become after applying this on my face? Hulk? Shrek?” That was the first thing that crossed my mind at the first time I saw green make-up base 1-2 years ago. The texture is nothing special compared with other “normal” shades concealer/foundation products, but this one is just…green! As green as Matcha Latte, or some other products have mint-green color.

If you don’t know about these products before, this green thing actually has exactly the same color correction function with concealer/CC cream, and the main function is to minimize the redness. But why green? Did you know that green is exactly the opposites of red in the color chart? So, green make-up base is the best to minimize the redness, pimples, and other skin breakouts that caused our skin turns red.

green-make-up-base-primer(Some brands of green make-up base/primer: Elf, Sephora, Etude House, NYX, Laneige, L’Oreal, Smashbox, MUFE, etc.)

Many make-up lines already launched their own green make-up base/primer, but these product are not so popular here yet in Indonesia since all those products are imported (and expensive!). Maybe it’s not so popular yet because people here have no idea what kind of product is this. I saw some Korean make-up lines like Etude House, Laneige, or Missha also launched their own green make-up base/primer – already available in some department stores here if you look for these products. I tried this greeny thing from Laneige (I got a 5 ml travel size…or is it a sample? of this product from an online shop here), and the result turns good. 😉

green-make-up-base-03(This product works very well to conceal my HUGE and red pimple! >.<)

For the usage, I just put a little in some spots that really need to be covered, spread evenly with concealer brush and ta daaa…it works! This product won’t 100% concealed spots, especially if you got huge pimples like mine. But I think it’s not bad at all since it concealed like 70% and my pimple became less visible. If you have redness all over your face, you can use this product for your entire face too, but I won’t do that! Hahaha…I’m still scared if this product will turns my face into green, or worse…ashy-grey, since my skin is kind of dark. I prefer to combine and wear this product with other foundation/CC cream in “normal” shades.

Since I’m an Asian, and Asian have more yellowish/tanned skin tone – sometimes got redness or skin breakouts too, but very rarely. Maybe these products invented for people with fair skin/Caucasian, but I think these products work not bad at all on my Asian skin, even personally, I don’t think I will use these products too often, IMHO. I still wish some local or affordable drugstore skin care will launched the similar products too, ’cause I really can’t stand the price! 😀

So, what do you think girls, will it be your next must have item in your make-up case like BB/CC cream? 😉

Right Brush, Right Time: Tips Memilih Kuas Make-up

Image

Oh, our fingers still the best applicator ever!

Nah…sebelumnya, buat yang belum tau, kita kenalan dulu yuk sama make-up brush’s anatomy. 😉

make-up-brush-anatomy

(Make-Up Brush’s Anatomy)

1. Bristles:

make-up-brush

(Left-right: Professional MUA brush, Personal use brush, Travel size brush)

1. Professional Make-Up Artist brush:

See ya later, folks! ❤

[FOTD] Tropical Mermaid look with Too Faced Summer Eyes palette

too-faced-summer-eyes-01

Aloha!

Do you still remember, what’s your favorite fairy tale or who’s your favorite Disney’s Princess when you were little? or are you girls just like me, who’s still watching Disney’s channel until now? (I am 26, but still love to watch Disney’s channel. Until now! :D) Well, Little Mermaid will always be my favorite fairy tale and Ariel is my favorite Disney’s Princess ever. Why? because I think a mermaid is an extra ordinary creature, she’s strong; can survive in both water and land, she’s brave, she’s playful, but in other side, she’s feminine and lovely too! In other stories about mermaid, she fought for love and sacrificed herself for someone she loved too. Aww!

Mermaid usually described as long haired princess, with human body and fish tail. But don’t forget that mermaid is kind of amazingly so into fashion creature too, she wears seashell as her bra, starfish as hairpin, and pearls as her jewelry. Sometimes I wish that mermaids were real… Aha! Why not try to turn yourself into one of this inspiring creatures? 😉

This is my very 1st #FOTD on this blog, and inspired by the mermaid fairy tales. This look called “Tropical Mermaid”, represents a mermaid who really loves enjoying sunsets in an exotic tropical beach while exposing her beautiful tanned human skin. I wear Too Faced Summer Eyes palette for this look, but I broke the Glamour Guide – well, rules are meant to be broken, right? :p ’cause I really love doing more experiment with colors. This look combined natural brown lid with pearly pink highlight and gold-blue lower lash line. I also added an extra “statement” for this look by creating “fish tail” with black liquid eyeliner. It’s easy to apply, if you ever done double winged-eyeliner before, I’m sure you can do this too! For tutorial you can see the steps on the picture below. 😉

Too Faced Summer Eyes tutorial

To get more into an exotic Tropical Mermaid look, use bronzer to contour your face and to give extra glow. For your lip, you can wear coral/nude lipstick and coat it with clear lip gloss to get the “wet look” lip. No need extra effort hair do for this look, just naturally untie your hair and show its natural texture and volume. Last, you can put pearl/flower/shell-embellished hair pin! Now you’re done! This look is very easy to follow and I think also wearable, ’cause the eye make up still looks natural as well, but with an extra “statement”! Anyway, I used Too Faced Summer Eyes-replica, but if you own the original one and want try this tutorial, I’m sure your look will be much much better than mine! So, are you ready to live a day as an exotic Tropical Mermaid? 🙂
